Telering is the leading distri­b­u­tion channel of IT and mobile solu­tions towards busi­nesses in Norway, and has approx­i­mately 550 employees across 110 resellers across the whole country.

How to balance a distrib­uted orga­ni­za­tion with 115 resellers and utilize their capa­sity through better knowl­edge sharing, increased connec­tivity between experts and managers, and improve the collab­o­ra­tion with key part­ners and customers.

Technology is not worth anything if people don’t use it.

The Telering case started with a network analysis to all the people in the retail chain. At the same time we helped them pilot launch Work­place from Face­book. They had an IT commu­nity on consumer Face­book with good knowl­edge sharing. To strenghten and secure the conver­sa­tion the IT commu­nity was moved to Work­place. The initial output from the network analysis showed that part of the orga­ni­za­tion was not included, and the output helped set up a group struc­ture.

Workshop on the Telering network and collaboration

Telering invited to a dealer confer­ence with part­ners to update on new prod­ucts and discuss how to win in the local markets, JOIN21 was invited to set focus on collab­o­ra­tion as the network analysis showed too low inter­ac­tion across the company. Everyone was presented Telering as a network and was asked some key ques­tions to solve together: How to best leverage on the Telering distrib­uted model? What is needed to use the collec­tive intel­li­gence of better? What should the Work­place is used for and not used to?

In the work­shop people trav­eled between tables to solve prob­lems and share insights. The process visu­al­ized how good they can be if they capi­talize on the collec­tive intel­li­gence.
